The society helps in the following ways:
•To help and support people with Parkinson’s, their carers, and families in the Oxford area with problems arising from Parkinson’s.
•To provide information and advice on Parkinson’s.
•To help raise funds for research and local branch activities.
Oxford Home Improvement Agency is dedicated to helping older, disabled and vulnerable residents within Oxford City to live safely and independently in their own home. The agency service is available to people who are vulnerable and need help repairing, maintaining or adapting their home. Their trained advisers are on hand to help you with all sorts of problems that might affect your home.
Headway support people affected by acquired brain injury across Oxfordshire. They offer services for patients and carers. This includes community support and the use of their rehabilitation centre.
Guideposts offers a range of services to support older people and people with disabilities to help them to live independently.
Dementia Oxfordshire provide information, advice and support with all aspects of dementia and link people in with services and support in their area.
The Dementia Cafe provides information about living with dementia and other services available locally in an informal and comfortable environment.
Day respite providing social and therapeutic care for people with dementia, and support for those who care for them at three Clubs around Oxford.
The peer support group gives people the opportunity to meet with others who understand some of what they are going through. Run by a facilitator, the sessions offer a chance to ask questions, get information and share experiences in a safe and supportive environment.
Dedicated to tackling loneliness among older people by organising monthly tea parties for people over 75 who live alone.
The Community Network Directory was provided by Age UK Oxfordshire and features a wide variety of activities, support and opportunities across Oxfordshire for older adults. Also in partnership with Volunteer Link-up and supported by Oxfordshire County Council.
