Generation Games is Age UK Oxfordshire’s physical activity service. Our aim is very simple: to help you get moving and enjoy life to the full. It’s never too late to start exercising – and it’s one of the most effective ways to maintain independence and ensure we stay steady on our feet. Generation Games has a wide choice of physical activity opportunities on offer across Oxfordshire, from Tai Chi to chair-based exercise and Zumba Gold.

EMBS offers a range of courses to help individuals raise their confidence, develop new skills, find employment and progress onto further or higher education. EMBS also runs a weekly Youth Club for 11-19 year olds. The Youth Club meets every Saturday from 3-5pm in term time, it is a safe place to have fun, make new friends and try new things.
Sunrise Multicultural Project support people from various ethnic groups in Banbury and the surrounding area, and more recently asylum seekers and refugees who have moved to the area. We aim to help people socialise, make friends and take part in activities within the groups and Banbury community. The project runs children’s Saturday Clubs, youth clubs, ladies drop in groups and ESOL classes.
OCCAC exists to serve the Chinese community in Oxfordshire by providing independent quality advice and services that enable them to gain equal access to public resources, improve their quality of life, and integrate into society. OCCAC also provides health and mental health talks, and supports mental health clients and their carers. Peer support groups are run by the organisation in Oxford and Abingdon, and telephone advice is given Mondays 10am to 4pm.

The Polish Psychologists’ Association (PPA) has been helping Poles living in the UK since 2006. Their mission is to provide professional services in the field of mental health and personal development. They aim to promote knowledge and psychological awareness to the widest possible audience. They currently have branches in London, Oxford, Cambridge and Leicester.
The PPA’s services include psychological consultations, family counseling, coaching sessions, career counselling, and educational workshops at the Women’s Academy.
Short-term counselling is available and includes up to three one-to-one sessions with a psychologist (support, crisis intervention, referral to other services). Long-term therapy is also on offer which involves a an in-depth exploration of a client’s mental health. This takes the shape of regular weekly meetings with a dedicated psychologist. Self-referrals welcome, contact via email or telephone.
Refugee Resource has two core activities: counselling and psychotherapy and mentoring for people adjusting to life in the UK. They also offer a women’s social and educational group, advocacy, employment help, information and signposting, plus training and consultation for professionals.

Youth Challenge Oxfordshire (YoCO) is a local charity supporting young people aged 13–21 years to develop personal confidence and resilience. Through weekly youth group sessions they deliver a fun but challenging programme of personal development, team work and social education, so that they can make good decisions that will set them up for a bright future.
