Refugee Resource has two core activities: counselling and psychotherapy and mentoring for people adjusting to life in the UK. They also offer a women’s social and educational group, advocacy, employment help, information and signposting, plus training and consultation for professionals.

The Polish Psychologists’ Association (PPA) has been helping Poles living in the UK since 2006. Their mission is to provide professional services in the field of mental health and personal development. They aim to promote knowledge and psychological awareness to the widest possible audience. They currently have branches in London, Oxford, Cambridge and Leicester.

The PPA’s services include psychological consultations, family counseling, coaching sessions, career counselling, and educational workshops at the Women’s Academy.

Short-term counselling is available and includes up to three one-to-one sessions with a psychologist (support, crisis intervention, referral to other services). Long-term therapy is also on offer which involves a an in-depth exploration of a client’s mental health. This takes the shape of regular weekly meetings with a dedicated psychologist. Self-referrals welcome, contact via email or telephone.

Youth Challenge Oxfordshire (YoCO) is a local charity supporting young people aged 13–21 years to develop personal confidence and resilience. Through weekly youth group sessions they deliver a fun but challenging programme of personal development, team work and social education, so that they can make good decisions that will set them up for a bright future.

The aim of Youth Ambition is to build meaningful relationships with disadvantaged young people aged 11-19 years old, (or up to 25 if they have physical or learning difficulties), who are from Oxford’s regeneration areas. They engage with young people through youth voice activities, youth clubs, multi-sports sessions and detached work in a variety of settings. They also work in partnership with other voluntary, community and statutory organisations.

The Young Women’s Music Project (YWMP) is an educational charity based in Oxford, which provides an inclusive and supportive space for young women aged 14-21 to make music together, learn new skills, express themselves, and grow in confidence. In the free music sessions and workshops, the young women make and record music, plan and hold gigs and events, and discuss issues affecting young people.

Yellow Submarine is an award-winning Oxfordshire charity that believes people with learning disabilities and autism deserve to live life to the full. They support their members to ‘do more’ and ‘need less’ increasing confidence, self-esteem and reducing social isolation.

Woodstock Youth Club are a self-funded club that has been running continuously since the 1960’s and is also a registered charity run by volunteers and trustees. The Youth Club leader is Mrs Jane Hibberd.

The club meets every Tuesday night from 6.00 through to 8.30pm at the Youth Centre on Recreation Road in Woodstock. We have lots of things to do from energetic sports: dodgeball, indoor football, basketball and roller hockey to a more peaceful art and craft room. There’s a tuck shop with hot snacks and cold drinks. The club is open to everyone aged 8 to 16 in Woodstock and all the surrounding villages.

Woodcote Youth Club offers a safe haven for young people to express themselves and experience some freedom in a fun and vibrant setting. The club has comfortable sofas where you can relax with friends or listen to music, or you can take part in other activities, e.g. pool competitions, gaming on the Xbox/Wii, or outdoor sports activities in the summer. They also arrange fun trips to trampoline parks and bowling centres throughout the year.
