Sweatbox Youth Venue
Overview
Youth Centre running youth clubs and outreach in the community. The Sweatbox venue consists of an American style diner space with a pool table, table football and a coffee bar selling snacks and drinks, along with a stage room featuring a lighting and sound system and a wide range of musical instruments. The stage room is used for live bands and Friday night Karaoke.
During Open Access sessions on Fridays Sweatbox puts on a range of activities such as Bouncy Castle, Gladiator Joust, Beanbag Cinema, Nintendo Switch gaming, Sumo Wrestling, Go Karts, and Portable Skate Ramps amongst other things.
Monday night Youth Club is based at Wantage Primary Academy on Kingsgrove, Wantage, and includes sports coaching, craft activities, board games and chill out area.
With experienced Youth Workers and Volunteer Youth Support Workers, we support young people in our community.

As at September 2024 we run:
Monday open access youth club. 7pm – 9pm, Wantage Primary Academy, Kingsgrove – for all 11 – 18 year olds. £2.00 entry on the door.
Fridays:
Open night: every other Friday term time – for all those in school years 7, 8 and 9. £3 entry on the door.
Dungeons and Dragons – every other Friday term time – 11 – 18 year olds. Email [email protected] to book your space.
Outreach: The Sweatbox Youth Worker team will be out in the community every other Friday evening in term time, and at various evenings during the holidays. Please say hi if you see us!
Beatbox – invite only group for young people aged 11 – 18 years with special educational needs and disabilities -Thursdays, 4:00pm-6:00pm
Nacho’s Young Carers – invite only group for young people with caring responsibilities. 11 – 18 year olds. Wednesdays 3.30 – 5.15pm.
Who is it for?
The Sweatbox is a community youth centre for 11 – 18 year olds in the Wantage, Grove and surrounding area. We are based at local schools, but the young people who attend don’t have to be students at those schools, all young people can access our service.
