Napac (National Association for people abused in childhood)
Overview
NAPAC provides the only free national support service for adult survivors of all types of childhood abuse. We offer specialist, confidential support to all adult survivors of any type of abuse, including physical, sexual, ritual and emotional abuse or neglect.

When/Where?
Our free confidential support line is open from 10am until 9pm Monday to Thursday and 10am until 6pm on Friday and can be reached by phoning 0808 801 0331.
Alternatively, survivors can email [email protected] and we will usually respond within two working days.
What we offer:
• Supportive and non-judgmental listening in calls of up to 30 minutes (i.e. a safe space for disclosure), where first-time callers are prioritised.
• An email support service providing compassionate, non-judgmental responses to service users who contact us to discuss childhood abuse.
• Signposting to key organisations around the country that provide suitable services, or who may be better placed to signpost the survivor to a local support organisation.
• Self-help support booklets, available to view or download for free at www.napac.org.uk/resources
• Support groups, please note that these are only run a few times a year and places are extremely limited. As and when support groups become available they are listed here – https://napac.org.uk/support-groups/
• All services are anonymous and confidential, we only breach confidentiality when we hear information about a known individual in imminent danger.
What we do not offer:
• Ongoing therapeutic support. We are not therapists or counsellors. Our primary goal is to encourage and empower survivors to take control of their healing and recovery, and to signpost them to the appropriate service where possible.
• Call backs – we do not provide a call-back service and do not call survivors. Our support line operates on a first come, first served basis, with a call queuing system.
• We do not keep case histories and we cannot offer ongoing support.
